Tribute to a Loyal Friend

The 1988 red camry is on her last wheels. She was an inheritance from Grandma and Grandpa to handle the extra load of teenage drivers. She has mothered Jenn, Melanie, Katie, David, and Ben through high school. I don't think she will be able to complete her term with Ben as she is suffering from arthiritis in her wheel. The power steering is now gone, so one gets quite the upper body work out when driving. We have to keep her well oiled, since she leaks.

It is quite a process to get her started in the morning. Ben has to open the hood attach the battery cables to the post, close it and jump in the car to start. When he parks the car he has to do the reverse procedure so the battery won't drain will sitting.

The driver's and passenger windows no longer roll done. So when Ben was pulled over a few months ago, the policeman startled and called back up when Ben had to open the door to communicate with him. Ben had to quickly explain the window doesn't work. And remember the passenger seatbelt doesn't tighten immediately, but does a surprise attack later (or is that the gray camry?)

It will be a sad day when we have to let her go; the camry holds many fond memories for me.
