How we spend extra time on winter days

Some times we get creative in how we spend our extra time indoors on long winter days...

1. Friendly competition:
David LOVES to arm wrestle dad. He is always challenging dad to little competition to check if he is as strong as dad. Usually David is turned down because he is so strong and dad is trying to protect a weakening elbow. The picture below is when the challenge was taken on New Year's Eve: the wager - going to grandma's for a while to celebrate. Guess who won and you can guess the rest of the story.

2. Visiting family:
We love to drive down to Provo to spend time with "the girls." Winter is a great time to see them, hit a BYU basketball or volleyball game, play games, and just simply enjoy each other.

3. Finishing projects:
Here David is putting together a computer desk. Something that we put off for a while and finally got around to it. David has a knack for putting things together. The foosball table was an interesting project and he pulls out the screwdriver now and then if it seems off balance. By the way the foosball is ready for all visitors to play. I am horrible at it and obviously the last one chosen to be on a team. The boys seem to tolerate me as I go from team to team. Funny how the team I am on always loses.

4. Playing games:
Ping pong is a favorite especially for David. He plays almost daily with who ever he can get. The boys are getting so good, I am slipping into last place in that category, but I still have some "stuff."

5. I think David was particularly bored when he did this. This is the hard way to play ping pong!

David, you are putting some nice spin on the ball, but still, you are NOTHING compared to the ping pong master...keep trying :)
